Transfering Files from a PC to the HTC Evo 3D | Articles Cast

The HTC Evo 3D is a new breed of smart phone. Released by Google and manufactured by Samsung a little more than a month ago, this smart phone is the very first smart phone to incorporate Google?s latest OS, Android 2.3, otherwise known as ?Gingerbread?. There are so many people talking about this mobile phone online (as well as offline), people wonder what can actually be done. Well, depending on how tech savvy you are or how familiar you are with smart phones in general, you might have a clear or a fuzzy idea about how to do various technical or fun things with the HTC Evo 3D and its cell phone accessories.

First of all, before you go about transferring files to or from your device, it?s a good idea to figure out the various capabilities. Depending on what you are thinking about doing, you might not even need to transfer the files in the first place; you might be able to simply download them directly on your computer or directly on your device. However, if you actually do have a massive amount of files and can?t download all of it at one time, it might just be wiser to just figure out how to transfer files.

The easiest way to transfer files is to use email. Through email you can easily send any file as an attachment and then download them through your phone. Virtually, you can use any email client to send a message from your computer. You can then access it into your HTC Evo 3D through the phone?s built-in Internet browser and wireless connectivity.

Now that you know how to transfer information back and forth between your computer and your phone, you might want to look into a few of the many accessories available that can help facilitate information transfer. A screen protector and case are ideal ways to keep your mobile device protected during everyday use.

The screen protector is an essential accessory, especially for this mobile phone since it?s a touch screen based phone. Since the screen is the most important feature of this mobile device it can be very hard to replace if it gets damaged. And just like the screen protector, the case will also keep your phone protected, but instead of the screen, it will keep the body of the phone intact. As discussed above, a microSD card will help make it super easy to upload and download personal files. Keep in mind that mobile accessories will help make this process easier.

Movie Review: 'Safe House' | Movies & TV | Arts & Entertainment ...

Denzel Washington ‘Safe House’

Denzel Washington brings out his generic ?intense? performance for action thriller ?Safe House?.?(Universal Pictures)

If you?ve ever wished your job was slightly more exciting, you might reassess such notions after watching this supposed adrenaline rush of a thriller.?

Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds) is a man with ambition. He?s a young C.I.A. agent working out of a Cape Town based safe house; an ad hoc storage facility that is permanently on standby at the behest of the US government. Weston has been there for 12 months, watching inactive monitors, silent phones, and bouncing balls against the wall.?

When the phone does eventually ring it is to inform him that rogue agent, Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington) has just turned himself in to the US consulate after years on the run has just ended with a seemingly botched trade. Frost?s arrival is the catalyst for an attack on the safe house, forcing Weston to go on the run while a reluctant intelligence team can escort them to safety.?

Denzel Washington has made this kind of film his bread and butter pay packet over the last decade. Whether acting alongside Ethan Hawke in Training Day, Chris Pine in Unstoppable, or Dakota Fanning in Man on Fire, he always delivers the same ferociously intense, larger-than-life performance that engulfs the film and elevates it above its own narrative limitations.?

So it?s a shame that Safe House is that carbon copy performance once again. It?s a grandiose and wizened turn but not that different to what we?re used to. Hasn?t anyone ever told you that variety is the spice of life, Denzel?

On this occasion Reynolds is the hot-headed antithesis for Denzel to play off against. He too is fine whilst playing a dialled down version of the cocksure shtick we?ve come to expect from him, but the mind games and dialogue between the two fail to ignite many sparks; it?s essentially Washington being philosophical and Reynolds scratching his head.?

Everything about this is just run-of-the-mill; the action is not as frequent as you might expect and more often than not Bourne-lite, as are numerous fisticuffs in narrow corridors. The use of an on-screen clock at intervals hints at a 24 style race against time which never materialises. In fact the comparisons with that show are also evident in the game of ?spot the C.I.A. mole?, something you?ll be able to work out five minutes after the character is introduced.?

The South African locations help establish a claustrophobic vibe which gives the movie an intensity that the plot can?t match, and the use of the Soccer City football stadium is the only time the action really kicks off above the pedestrian levels of the opening 40 minutes.?

Overall it?s something of an anti-climax given the explosive, Jay-Z accompanied trailer and the talent involved. It?s easy but oh-so-tempting to say that Safe House is just too darn safe.

Israel to free Palestinian hunger striker

Palestinian supporters of the Islamic Jihad militant group participate in a protest in solidarity with Khader Adnan, a senior member of Islamic Jihad jailed in Israel who has been on hunger strike for 66 days, in Gaza City, Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012. Adnan, 33, is on a hunger strike protesting Israel's policy of long-term detention without trial. The life-threatening gamble has also drawn broader attention toward Israel's policy of "administrative detention," under which Palestinians can be held without charge for months or even years at a time. (AP) ? A Palestinian prisoner agreed to end his 66-day hunger strike to protest his imprisonment without charge after reaching a deal with Israel that will free him in April, the Israeli Justice Ministry said Tuesday.

The agreement ended a tense standoff that left 33-year-old Khader Adnan clinging to life and drew international attention to a controversial Israeli policy of holding suspected Palestinian militants without charge. The hunger strike also turned Adnan, a member of the Islamic Jihad militant group, into a hero for Palestinians.

Under the deal struck with military prosecutors, Adnan agreed to resume eating immediately, the Justice Ministry said.

Outside the Jerusalem high court, some two dozen demonstrators waved the Palestinian flag. "Khader is coming home!" they chanted.

Adnan was a spokesman for Islamic Jihad, a group that has killed dozens of Israelis in suicide bombings and other attacks. It is not known whether he participated in violent acts.

The statement said that if "no new additional substantial evidence" emerges against Adnan, he will be released on April 17.

That means his four-month detention order will be counted from the day of his arrest, not the day it was issued several weeks later. The deal also suggests that military prosecutors will not seek extensions, which can often be used to prolongue administrative detentions.

The Justice Ministry said Adnan, who remains hospitalized, accepted the deal through his attorney.

The deal was swiftly denounced by Israel's hardline foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman.

"It was a wrong decision to release the Jihad activist. But it is our duty to respect and honor every Supreme Court decision even when we don't agree with it," he said.

Adnan's lawyers said the deal would set a precedent for other Palestinian prisoners ? that they too, could force Israel to listen to their demands.

"Sheikh Khader is an example for Palestinians," said one of his lawyers, Mahmoud Hassan. "He showed that their demands can be met."

Tuesday's compromise was announced shortly before the Israeli Supreme Court was to hold an emergency hearing on Adnan's appeal. The court moved the hearing up by two days, over concerns about Adnan's health. He has been held in an Israeli hospital for several weeks because of his condition.

Adnan's supporters and physicians said in recent days that he couldn't survive much longer on his hunger strike. Doctors who treated him said he lost some 60 pounds (30 kilograms), his hair was falling out, his skin had turned yellow and that he was in danger of a heart attack.

Adnan's wife, Randa, was ecstatic over the news.

"The Israelis had no proof and that's why they've agreed to these four months," she said in a telephone interview. "He's shown by his steadfastness that we can be victorious."

She laughed, and supporters could be heard ululating with joy in the background.

Adnan was arrested from his West Bank home on Dec. 17 and launched his hunger strike the following day.

He said he was protesting Israel's policy of "administrative detentions," in which it holds suspected Palestinian militants for months and even years at a time without charge. Adnan also claimed to have been beaten and humiliated in prison.

Israel has said Adnan was suspected of acts that "threaten regional security" without elaborating. It has not responded to the abuse allegations.

Israel has defended the policy of administrative detentions as a necessary tool to stop militant activity. It says the measure is needed to protect its network of Palestinian informants.

Adnan has been on three hunger strikes in the past. His sister Maali Musa said her brother undertook a 14-day hunger strike in 1999 after he was imprisoned by Palestinian authorities for hurling rotten eggs at officials during a demonstration.

He went without food for 28 days to protest his solitary confinement in 2005 when he was imprisoned by Israel. His sister said his strike forced Israeli authorities to return him to live with other prisoners.

He also undertook a 12-day hunger strike in 2010, again when he was arrested by the Palestinian Authority, which rules parts of the West Bank. Musa said her brother wasn't charged with anything, and was quickly released.

Adnan's latest protest was the longest hunger strike ever by a Palestinian prisoner, and had caused some unease in Israel. The European Union and United Nations had expressed concern over the case and urged Israel to promptly give Adnan a trial.

There are some 300 Palestinians in Israeli administrative detention. They are a fraction of the some 4,200 Palestinians held in Israel, many who are doing time for charges ranging from throwing stones at Israeli soldiers to killing Israeli civilians.

Palestinians venerate the prisoners, viewing them as freedom fighters.

The second longest hunger strike in Palestinian history was by a woman, Itaf Alayan who refused food for 43 days before she was released in 1997. She was also an administrative detainee.

Music Opportunities and Social Media | Musician Coaching

Kristin Bredimus is Vice President of Community & Artist Relations at OurStage, a music-centric social media platform that provides undiscovered artists with unique opportunities to share their music to fans and industry people. With over a decade of experience in music business, Kristin got her start photographing local bands while attending art school in Boston, which eventually led her to a career as an artist manager helping musicians through the process of recording, music releases, touring, negotiating record and licensing deals and promotion. She went on to become the Director of the NEMO Music Festival ? where she managed over 400 artists on 30 stages across three days ? and the Boston Music Awards. She started working with OurStage in 2007 as a consultant, working her way up to her current role as an advocate and advisor to the more than 225,000 artists and 4.5 million fans that use the platform.

?

?

Kristin recently talked to me about how her passion for working with emerging and independent artists began and how the OurStage platform can help musicians find opportunities to grow their careers. She also provided some advice to bands that want to get their music heard and build a loyal fan base.

?

Musician Coaching:

?

Thanks so much for taking the time to talk to me, Kristin. How did you get into the music business?

?

KB:

?

I actually got into the music industry through photography. I was a photography major at the Massachusetts College of Art, and I started to take band photos for people I knew in bands to help get their promo shots together. In doing this, I inevitably became friends with some of the bands. And being a Bostonian, we have a really large, eclectic music scene. So, I had a bunch of friends who were either musicians or artist managers. Initially I was trying to connect the bands that I had photographed with different managers I was friends with. The bands were all baby bands, so my friends that were artist managers said, ?Until we can start making money from a band, it?s really premature for them to start working with people of our caliber.? But one of ?them said, ?If you?re interested in working for this one particular band, I?d be happy to coach you on what you need to do to be an artist manager.?

?

That?s essentially how it started. I went from photographing a band, to managing a band called Hero Pattern that was based in New Jersey. My friend Ami Bennitt, who was the manager of The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, gave me tips on what to do. Then, I started networking. I took an approach where I sat down with every member of the band and had them give me a list of every band and every industry contact that they had. Then I started trying to figure out how I could get in front of people who could positively influence their career. At the same time, in my own community in Boston, a friend of mine was taking over the NEMO Music Festival and the Boston Music Awards, so he asked if I would help out with that. Then I eventually became the Director of that music festival and of the Boston Music Awards.

?

Initially, I was trying to just make as many inroads in the music industry as possible. And having worked in art ? and I?d also worked in film for a while ? I was really surprised by how effortlessly I could start to network. It seemed like the music industry ? even more than the film and art industries ? was really propelled by personal relationships. People at all different levels in the ecosystem were really willing to talk and be helpful as long as I respected their time, presented myself and my clients in a professional manner and there was genuine talent and drive behind any artist I tried to position.

?

From there, my personal career evolved. I stopped managing bands. And I sought out different jobs opportunities that allowed me to work with many more independent artists, because I?m interested in working with artists as they?re making their way out in their careers. I enjoy working with people that are hungry, passionate and creative. And I think as an artist gets more and more successful in their career, particularly in the traditional model of the music industry, a lot of times there is a lot of other people that are kind of informing their image and their music. And it becomes less and less about what the artist wants. So, I?ve always really enjoyed working with an artist in the beginning and helping them make some decisions, but also trying to find that balance between being a smart business person and still being an artist.

?

Musician Coaching:

?

I?ve worked with a handful of people at labels throughout the years. And they had worked with many multi-platinum artists. A few of them in particular would only hang up the Gold record for each artist, and I would ask them why. They would say, ?That was the most meaningful one ? that first stretch to Gold.?

?

KB:

Yes. It?s funny, because I think a lot of people working in the industry all have different motivations. I think because I was a visual artist, I?ve always really enjoyed working with artists as they are emerging.

?

That?s why the NEMO Music Festival and the Boston Music Awards were great for me to be a part of, because they were really helping to illuminate the emerging artist. Those two events were part of a company called TRP Sports and Entertainment. So, I essentially ran their music division. And we would do a lot of other music-centric promotion with brands. In doing this, I was introduced to OurStage because another friend in the music industry was hired to work for the company and basically help make introductions to people and companies within the music industry that had access to a talent pool of emerging artists. At launch, OurStage needed to help seed the site with emerging talent. So, I went to my database of a few thousand artists and told them about it.

?

I eventually became an official consultant for OurStage. I?ve been working with the company in some capacity since they launched in 2007. In 2011, I was promoted to Vice President of Community & Artist Relations. It?s nice to be still working within the music industry, still working with independent artists and to have a job and a career that continues to grow. I know it?s been really hard for a lot of my peers over the last few years as the industry has changed. I?m very appreciative of my job.

?

I think if you work in the music industry, you have to be very flexible and get creative. So, finding an angle that?s technology based is a good example of that flexibility and creativity. We actually work with a lot of music industry majors at Northeastern. When I?m interviewing the next round of prospective co-ops, I always tell them that working for a company like OurStage will actually give them an advantage, because they will need to learn a lot about technology and social media. And a lot of different elements of the music industry will be touched upon, because within OurStage, we do music licensing, produce large events to give artists opportunities, etc.

?

Musician Coaching:

?

I was at OurStage kind of early on and was actually in conversations with someone about Musak. I remembered going to the site and thinking, ?Is this a battle of the bands? Is this a community? Is this social media?? I remember feeling very overwhelmed by it. I have clients that use it, but I haven?t been back in a while. Clearly, you have a lot of traffic and a lot of registered participants. Tell me a little bit about the direction and the benefit this site provides to artists.

?

KB:

Everything that you said is totally valid. Because the company is very much a startup, part of what we struggled to do is provide a lot of different value for a lot of different silos within the industry. And sometimes we do that with grace, and sometimes we are aware that our offering needs to be advanced. Part of what we?re doing for 2012 is to really make all our offerings very clear to all the different types of users that come to the site, whether they are music lovers, music industry people or independent artists.

?

What OurStage is best known for is being a competition platform. Every single month we offer unique opportunities to emerging artists. The intention is to create opportunities that can really be a catalyst in an artist?s career ? something to get them on the radar of a larger pool of people in the industry that can influence their career and a larger audience of fans. We do things like run ?opening act? competition for artists giving them the opportunity to open for people like Bon Jovi, John Mayer, Kid Rock and other artists. We?ll also do collaborations where an artist will be asked to collaborate with some sample tracks from artists like T-Pain or John Legend. We?ve also done competitions that award the artist recording and studio time with influential producers like Mike Flynn, who does A&R at EPIC and is a producer who has worked with The Fray and Sara Bareilles.

?

It?s basically about creating unique opportunities that bands can?t get elsewhere. We don?t charge any money to artists that are awarded these opportunities. Essentially, artists are asked to create a profile on the site. And we encourage them to really fill out their profiles and their EPKs, then enter their best original songs into our monthly music competition.

?

The types of industry-related opportunities we offer vary every month. And it?s not available for all genres of music. Generally speaking, they?re divided up between pop, rock, country and urban opportunities. Even if we don?t have an industry-centric opportunity, we give away $5,000 each month to an emerging artist. It?s really intended to give them an amount of money that can fund recording, a tour, a van or will provide the artist with whatever it is they need.

?

Musician Coaching:

?

The paranoid artist within me ? because that?s how I got into this business ? would say, ?That?s great that you don?t charge, but how does OurStage make money??

?

KB:

We make money a few different ways. We make money through ad sales. We also make money through our sponsored competitions, because it?s really an interactive branding play for some of these artists and companies.

?

Musician Coaching:

Well, and I would imagine if, for example, you?re giving away Shure microphones, that would be great PR for them.

?

KB:

?

Exactly. We also have a couple partners who have invested in the company, one of which is MTV Networks.

?

We are also looking to build out a suite of tools that will be something we would charge artists and industry people for. But of course, there would be a value to utilizing those tools. That?s something that we?re working on in 2012. When we get to the point where there is some kind of subscription service, we will of course keep in mind that there has to be real value to the artist, and that our price point needs to be reasonable.

?

Having managed bands, I am always very skeptical of any type of business that wants money from an artist. I?m also sensitive to the fact that a lot of artists are working crappy day jobs so they are available to go on tour and record. As a result, they don?t have an endless supply of funds. So, if they are going to spend any money, they need to spend it very wisely. We also have to understand what their individual economics are, because they have to take care of their recording costs, merchandise, gas for touring, etc.

?

That?s part of what my role is within the company. I act as the artist advocate. OurStage wants to be artist friendly. Whenever we make any decision, the artist is paramount to any choices that we make.

?

Musician Coaching:

?

Other than the contest platform, you mentioned licensing and some other parts of the company. What are some of OurStage?s other elements?

?

KB:

?

It all ties into the competition. Essentially, when an artist enters a competition, what ends up happening is that a community of music lovers starts to sort all the songs that are competing in what we call a ?channel.? At the end of it, an artist can win a prize, whether it?s cash or an opportunity.

?

What then happens, which a lot of artists aren?t aware of, is that we then generate a music chart. We display the top 100 artists that are ranked within every music channel. And that top 100 artists list then becomes a way for my team to start sorting the gems. We might identify an artist we want to feature in our online magazine. We often do features on our emerging artists, because want to be one of the first voices writing about them. We know that a lot of times our artists are just getting out there, so it?s very important for them to have a well-written, concise bit of press they can add to their EPK and press clippings.

?

Another thing we do is source music for music licensing opportunities. And that?s one of the reasons? Dave Bason at the MGMT Company is working with OurStage. He and a small team of people that we?re building right now are setting up a licensing division. And OurStage is editorially vetting artists from these top 100 charts that a larger community of fans have vetted. Then, we?re approaching select artists and seeing if we can represent their catalog and position licensing opportunities for them. The idea is that OurStage would act as their publishing administrator. Dave and his team would position the song. If licenses are secured, then OurStage would get a percentage off the top of the master and sync fee licenses, although our percentages are largely below the industry standard. Because, again, we want to always be perceived as being artist friendly first and foremost. That division is just getting underway right now. And we have an entertainment lawyer who is working within that division as well.

?

Another thing I?m doing right now is that some of the program directors over at the X Games are looking for opening acts to perform for their headline acts, who are performing at Belly Up as part of the X Game week of events. Because of the collective relationships that people at OurStage have, people will come to us and say, ?I need an artist for this opportunity.? If we have enough lead time, we?ll run a promotion around it. If we don?t we?re still going to present the opportunity to our artists.

?

With X Games, everything is very time sensitive, so I?ve gone through and made recommendations to the people that are programming the music, suggesting openers for several of their nights. And that happens a lot. And promoting some of these opportunities for artists is something OurStage isn?t necessarily as strong at doing. And this is because we?ve been operating without a marketing director for a while. Again, this is another thing we?re changing in 2012. (Editor?s Note:? The X Games/OurStage event did not end up coming to fruition this year.)

?

All these things that happen behind the scenes will start to bubble up, so artists better understand what the company can offer them. And the hope is that the industry and fans will better understand the role we hope to play in emerging music.

?

Musician Coaching:?

?

While I realize success has a thousand fathers, is there a success story you can point to where OurStage made a huge difference in a particular artist?s or band?s career?

?

KB:

?

That?s a question we get asked a lot. The reality is, when we work with artists, it?s in the very early days of them having a career. Having been an artist, I?m sure you know that any type of success doesn?t happen overnight. The way I like to look at how we positively impact careers is in terms of getting an artist to the next step.

?

Which artists have had their careers impacted because they were associated with OurStage? Our biggest success story is an electronica act called Plushgun. Plushgun was discovered on our site and signed by Tommy Silverman. So, that?s an example of a band that got a record contract.

?

But the things we do in general are small steps that get an artist closer to whatever their overall goal is.

?

Musician Coaching:

?

You guys have clearly positively impacted dozens, if not hundreds of careers. Unfortunately, people usually ask people whether or not you were responsible for ?making? a famous band.

?

KB:

?

I personally feel like the future of the music industry is the evolution of a very robust middle class. And it?s a middle class of artists whose career and success is defined by being able to quit their day jobs. So, they?re able to support themselves by virtue of their music, whether they do that through sales, touring or music licensing opportunities; they are artists who are able to make money off their music. Those are the types of artists we help bring to success and get closer to their goals every single day.

?

There?s an artist who in 2011 had a lot of success as a result of OurStage. His name is Austin Renfroe, and he?s based in Nashville. He has an indie pop sound, and he?s been a big hit in the college/NACA market. I spoke to him actually when he was showcasing at NACA, and he had already booked over 60 dates. He tours about 250 dates per year. In 2011, he was featured in The OurStage Panel, a web series we?ve created. The basic concept is, 16 artists from OurStage get their music positioned in front of 4-5 panelists who are heavy hitters in the music industry. The panel discusses each single and gives some career advice. Then, the artists advance to another round, and there?s a live showcase. One artist won a series of mentoring opportunities and a video EPK to be produced by Mitchell Stuart. Austin was one of the finalists. He got some attention based on this web series. He also won a competition we did with Intel. And he?s actually at NAMM right now with Intel doing some acoustic showcases. And he won $10,000 in cash and a whole suite of tools and gear from Intel, Cakewalk and Gibson.

?

Musician Coaching:

?

That?s definitely a success story. Contributing to artists making a living is really important.

?

You have a pretty unique viewpoint given your particular music industry background and career trajectory. Do you have any parting words of advice for artists trying to make it in the current climate?

?

KB:

?

I understand that a lot of artists start to fatigue when it comes to the internet and all the different social media platforms or any web-based platforms or communities. My advice to them is to really understand that you have no control over how or where somebody discovers music. So, if you have the energy, I absolutely recommend having a presence across as many different platforms and within as many different communities as you can. I understand it takes a lot of work. But you just never know who the people are who are loyal to a particular community. And you don?t want to be eliminated from another community.

?

One example I often see is, a band will have their free social media home and will spend most of their time there. It will have all their updates, their calendar and their music. But a lot of times, when I?m looking for music myself, I might not first go to the website they consider their home. So, then I have to do this scavenger hunt across the internet to try to learn more about the artist. A lot of people don?t have the time or inclination to really search, especially when it comes to new music and new artists. I recommend that wherever you have an online presence, always keep it updated, and include as much information as possible. You should have a concise, well-written bio. And you should have any industry achievements ? because that?s always a great way for someone like myself to start to filter out a band or get a sense of how professional they are.

I also recommend having some type of live performance footage, because a lot of times people are starting to vet artists from what they see on the web. Then, make sure that your calendars are always updated. Musicians might not have the funds and the opportunity to be recording music on a yearly basis. But it?s really important to those that will be invested in a new artist?s career to see that the artist is active. The way the average person makes an assessment on how active the artist is, is through their releases or the amount of shows that are in their calendar. If you haven?t released anything for three years and you don?t have any gigs listed in your calendar, that tells me maybe you?re not really serious, your band is inactive, or you broke up. And I?ll just move on to the next artist.

Marriage: completeness shared

A Christian Science perspective.

Who is audacious enough to claim credentials for writing about marriage, since it touches so many areas of human experience: the heart, individual purpose, human rights, the crucial development of our future?s progeny, and wallet issues?

The fact is, millions of us have legitimate credentials, including Mary Baker Eddy, the Monitor?s founder. She endured highs and lows of marriage that many know all too well. Her first husband died after only six months; her second deserted her after years of infidelity, which all ended in divorce; and the third, whom she loved dearly, died after five years.

She later answered the question, ?What do you think of marriage?? in this way: ?That it is often convenient, sometimes pleasant, and occasionally a love affair. Marriage is susceptible of many definitions. It sometimes presents the most wretched conditions of human existence? (?Miscellaneous Writings 1883-1896,? p. 52).

No one wants marriage to be a ?wretched condition.? And many people want it to be a mutually supportive contract offering companionship and more. Mrs. Eddy continued her response: ?To be normal, it must be a union of the affections that tends to lift mortals higher.?

Relationships demand the best of humanity. Today, definitions of marriage that focus primarily on physical aspects of relationships overshadow that demand. But the best that humanity has is actually spiritual. Expressing spiritual qualities blesses human unions.

Spiritual qualities don?t emanate from, and are not subject to, the whims of physicality, but they lift pleasures and pressures of physicality to higher affections. The qualities of integrity, fidelity, emotional and moral strength, tenderness, thoughtfulness, intelligence, are actually qualities that each of us is created to express. Those qualities, developed individually and lived, will lift marriage to a more spiritual level.

Living those qualities individually and expressing them in a marriage establishes completeness ? not a completeness that comes from putting two halves together, but a ?union of the affections,? a sweet sharing in which husband and wife express to each other each one?s whole identity as a child of the Creator, already complete.

A friend once told me of a challenging family experience that was harmonized when she turned to God for a more spiritual view of family relationships. In prayer, the thought came to her: ?God governs the association of His ideas.? She understood that God?s ideas, His children, never lose the capacity to express the spiritual qualities of God, Spirit. And each idea, or child, is governed as an individual and in one?s associations, by God.

So how can a marriage that?s broken be restored to support both individuals? happiness and progress? By accepting the original, untarnished completeness of oneself and one?s partner, and living it better today than yesterday. Then a trustworthy ?union of the affections? will support each partner?s spiritual progress.

A marriage can gently be elevated to a union of affections that continually grows. Such a union supports the originally created, spiritual nature of both partners.

Fourth 'Transformers' shapes up for Bay to direct (AP)

LOS ANGELES ? Director Michael Bay plans a fresh take on shape-shifting robots with the fourth installment in his "Transformers" franchise.

Paramount Pictures announced Monday night that Bay will return to direct the next chapter in the blockbuster sci-fi series, due in theaters June 29, 2014.

Bay's third movie based on the Hasbro toy line, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," came out last summer and took in $1.1 billion worldwide.

The studio's announcement said the next "Transformers" will be a new take ? which probably is necessary since star Shia LaBeouf said last summer that he would not return for a fourth movie.

The "Transformers" sequel is part of a two-picture deal for Bay at Paramount. First, he'll direct Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson in the crime tale "Pain and Gain."

The Harry Lorayne Memory Effectiveness Course Assessment ...

The world?s foremost memory authority, Harry Lorayne, has developed a training program called ?The Harry Lorayne Memory Power Course.? Harry Lorayne is recognized as ?The Yoda of Memory Training? and most of his books ? many of which are now classics and bestsellers ? were written specifically to help ordinary people improve their memories. Through this review, we?ll be taking a look at a complete memory course that includes many of his most powerful techniques.

Harry Lorayne, without a doubt, is the person most qualified to train you in memory techniques. Not only did Harry Lorayne appear twenty-three times on The Tonight Show, he had also been a invitee on such shows as The Ed Sullivan Show, Good Morning America, and The Mike Douglas Show. His popularity began to boost in the 1950s as his presentations of his mnemonic memory techniques became increasingly popular and sought after. The Memory Book: The Classic Guide to Improving Your Memory at Work, at School, and at Play, published along with Jerry Lucas in 1986, enjoyed one year on the New York Times Bestseller list. An additional natural talent of Mr. Lorayne happens to be as a good magician. He ended up being famous for his card tricks and his amazing memory. He started performing in Billy Reed?s Little Club as a table magician when he was just 18 years old. He?s provided many amazing presentations, such as hearing the names of hundreds of audience patrons and then being able to remember each one perfectly. If you wish to possess a phenomenal memory ? and who doesn?t? ? you will be taught the methods used by Harry Lorayne when you take his extraordinary course, The Harry Lorayne Memory Power course.

Ideally, just as with so many other areas regarding Harry Lorayne Memory Power Program Review, you will need to pay more consideration to some things than others. What is more critical for you may be much less so for others, so you have to think about your unique circumstances. We really are just getting going here, and hopefully you will be excited about what more is in store. The final half of the article will offer you more solid info about this. It is all about offering information that builds on itself, and we think you will appreciate that. The Harry Lorayne Memory Power course provides you with a substantial amount of material that can be very helpful for improving your memory. Many folks who have benefited from this training program were overwhelmed at the scope of the materials use ? much more information than they needed. The program features four CDs or cassettes along with a bonus DVD and, considering how much information is included, the retail price of $149.95 is quite reasonable. If you believe that this system is far more than you could ever need to know, do a search for some of the many books he?s written to find what you are looking for. You could also reduce your cost by locating a used copy of the book that you are interested in or, perhaps, the paperback version. On Amazon, you may even acquire some of his publications for your Kindle. You won?t regret buying the full course, however, for those who are seriously interested in knowing everything you can about how to have the best memory possible.

People in all areas of life have learned the methods Harry Lorayne teaches in order to have better memories. In fact, he has coached the staff of many corporations and had a video course, also, called ?Memory Power? that was included in corporate training. An excellent memory is one of the most important attributes that a professional business person, or sales person, can have. Business leaders realized this and had their staffs trained for optimum memory recall. When you have the ability of always recollecting a person?s name ? after meeting them only one time ? it will greatly enhance your business success and popularity. Think about it: whenever you meet a person who remembers not only your name, your spouse?s name, your phone number, and other bits and pieces of personal information, you are astounded, and are more likely to do business with this person. People these days may think they can count on technology to remember everything, but most of us still frequently find ourselves in situations where we don?t have a chance to write something down or type the info into our smart phones.

If you happen to search on the internet, or at Barnes & Noble, you will discover a plethora of books and courses on self-improvement. It boggles your mind how many are available. Nonetheless, what you won?t find are a lot of programs that focus on improving your memory. Even when you do discover a small sampling of publications on memory training, they usually aren?t written by someone who has the skills, background, and success with memory training as Harry Lorayne does. The Harry Lorayne Memory Power system isn?t really for everybody, but it?s unquestionably worth purchasing if you?re seriously interested in making significant improvements in your ability to remember names, numbers and other important information.

Hackers post W.Va. police officers' personal info (AP)

CHARLESTON, W.Va. ? Hackers affiliated with the Anonymous hacking group obtained more than 150 police officers' personal information from an old website for the West Virginia Chiefs of Police Association and posted it online.

William Roper, the association's president, told the Charleston Gazette ( http://bit.ly/zLZxrB) the FBI is investigating. Roper is also the police chief of Ranson, W.Va.

Roper said a group called CabinCr3w hacked the website Monday and obtained the home addresses, home phone numbers and cellphone numbers of current and retired police chiefs. The association has a new website but members' information was stored on the old website's database.

"It's a tragedy someone was able to hack our website and obtain information that is useful to our members," Roper said.

In an online message by CabinCr3w addressed to "citizens of West Virginia," the hacking group says it has been monitoring cases of police brutality.

"We are here to remind you that we the taxpayers pay your exorbitant salaries, and those salaries of your officers," the message says. "Your job is to protect and serve, not brutalize the very people that pay your wages. Muzzle your dogs of war, or we will expose more of your sensative (sic) information."

Clarksburg, W.Va., Police Chief Marshall Goff was among those whose information was posted by the hackers.

"Like any of the public out there, we are at times victims also," Goff told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

Goff, who said he's been contacted by the FBI about the incident, said he does not believe the hacker group accomplished anything because his information is already publicly accessible.

"My number is published in the book because I feel that as an official figure I need to be accessible to the public," he said.

Roper said CabinCr3W is affiliated with the hacking collective Anonymous and CabinCr3w's Twitter page is laced with references to the larger hacking group.

Last week, Anonymous hit the web with a slew of hacks, including releasing a recording of a conference call between the FBI and Scotland Yard in which law enforcers discussed how to stop the hacking group.

Anonymous also claimed credit for defacing the Boston Police Department's website. And in Salt Lake City, officials said the personal information of confidential informants and tipsters had been compromised.

(AP) ? French police raided the home of cycling great Jeannie Longo on Wednesday and arrested her husband on suspicion that he bought doses of the banned performance-enhancer EPO.

The 53-year-old Longo was expected to be questioned following the arrest of her husband and coach, Patrice Ciprelli, at their home in Saint-Martin-le-Vinoux in the French Alps, said police officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss the case.

Another French official, also speaking on condition of anonymity, said Ciprelli was suspected of buying EPO over the Internet in the past two years.

His arrest came three months after the French Cycling Federation cleared Longo of breaching anti-doping rules in an embarrassing blow for France's anti-doping agency.

Prosecutors in the Alpine city of Grenoble are handling the case. France's police agency responsible for anti-doping investigations, OCLAESP, also was involved.

Calls to Longo's home went unanswered.

Ciprelli was suspended by the French cycling federation last September over allegations he bought EPO. That prompted Longo to pull out of last year's Road World Championships in Holte, Denmark.

Longo's list of titles covers nine pages in "Jeannie by Longo," her biography. Longo won gold at her fourth Olympics, at Atlanta in 1996. She also has two Olympic silvers and one bronze, 13 world titles, 58 French titles and world records.

In an AP interview in February 2011, Longo's response was ambiguous when asked whether doping might be part of her longevity in cycling. She explained that there are no level playing fields in sports "because we all do what we can to be better."
